I Love Scary Movies

Halloween was released on the 25th October 1978.
Halloween was a low-budget film that changed the world.
Written and directed by novice filmmaker John Carpenter, featuring virtually no famous actors, and shot in the span of 20 days, the film somehow managed to revolutionize a genre and spawn a series of sequels that is still producing to this day.
The Halloween movies have inspired a cult following.
Shot on a budget of $320,000, it grossed at least $60 million at the box office.
Nick Castle, who played the main character, Michael Myers was paid $25 a day.
The original premise of the film was some psychopath stalks and kills babysitters.
The initial title was "The Babysitter Murders"
The mask worn buy Myers was a modified "Captain Kirk" rubber mask.

for me... the best american horror movie ever made. Great music too.
Defined the slasher genre.

But it should have stopped after the 2nd one :|
Actually if they stopped after the 1st... It would be okay too. The ending didn't really need more then it showed the viewer.

Most follow up films get worse than the original

@Gusman Well, the 2nd one is still okay honestly. It just continues on the original story. After that... it's all downhill

The 2 remakes by Rob Zombie... were also pretty okay. Altough I disliked the strong language of the teenagers which was just annoying at times. I don't mind strong language, but at moments it was a bit over the top.
