Even in movies like the Harry potter ones I cannot watch any of the romantic scenes

They make me want to go hide in a totally dark room and never come out. Dunno why. Just how I feel. My daughter has been re-watching the whole 8 film series (currently up to # 7).

That reminds me of when I was about 10 and we went to the Saturday morning children's matinees at the local cinema. Whenever a romantic scene came on, especially if they started kissing, the whole place would erupt with shouts of 'stop it' or boos and whistling. It was literally, extremely childish. I'm sure you don't do that, but I sometimes wish they would just get on with plot when things get 'icky'. 🤣

@FreddieUK now I just find it icky because I've never experienced love and romance when I was a teen, and my two relationships turned into failtures, and the effects, esp of the second one, will never go away. I love my kids inc my 8 y/o daughter but I won't ever recover from the total draining of self-worth/esteem/confidence by my 8 y/o's mum during the pregnancy and following the (traumatic) birth that I missed due to circumstances beyond my control. It became the most anti-romantic experience I could potentially imagine despite all the good things that only I experienced alone.

I find such scenes irritating too.

I am not a voyeur anyway but I think it might be mainly because I have had only a very sparse and episodic love life, while my relatives and most of friends are all married. (Many are parents too but I've never wanted that.)

I just finished the series with my son. The romantic scenes are totally lacking IMO there really wasn’t much there. Except that one strange vision scene where Harry and Hermione were kissing shirtless.. it was strange and like.. why lol.
@tiltawhirl It was a vision given to Ron to make him jealous of Harry and suspicious of both Harry & Hermione.

Apparently, Dumbledore forsaw something like this as a possibility.

@SomeMichGuy thank you that clears it up a lot! Next weekend we are going to a HP experience thingy 😊
@tiltawhirl AH, well, glad to be of help.

Well, enjoy! To watch ALL the movies is a lot of watching, and there are some things one can miss.

Hope you enjoy your HP experience!
