lilylovesgaming1986 The Context and Intent are very different from what you described particularly with traditional anime compared to that of Netflix and what it generally puts up on the “kids” section of its streaming platform.
Targeting children with sexualized content as your intent to praise and uplift sexualized ideologies and agendas is an issue most people are going to become not only concerned with, but downright appalled by.
Most anime that expresses sexualized content is not geared towards children. And the ones that do have elements or themes of it that are targeted towards teenagers. (And yes, oftentimes children also watch, but are not the target demographic.) But they do not praise these elements but rather do so in a way that Mocks it, rather than praising it. Examples being Naruto~ Sasuke x Naruto accidental kiss scene as a comedic mocking element. Sexy jutsu as a mocking element referring to anyone who is fooled by the technique as a pervert.
It does not praise an ideology or attempt to sway children’s impressionable minds into becoming something that they naturally are not. They are one off moments meant to entertain usually as comedic relief, or as some other form while the principal main story takes place that is far removed from any ideology being presented.
I can’t speak on these gay and lesbian movies as I’ve no experience with them. But if they’re not intentionally geared towards children, while also not pushing a very specific ideology. That’s again showcasing the direct difference between the two mediums.
Another contributing factor is AWARENESS. These types of shows were on Netflix geared towards children for awhile. However many parents were unaware of the kind of content being produced, created, and targeted towards their kids. And it’s only from that AWARENESS that has finally led to these results and pushback against the companies creating these issues.
Which is why people will likely step away from streaming platforms and start monitoring what their children watch and becoming more vigilant with what they allow them to consume on a daily basis. Going back to purchases of specific shows rather than just paying for an entire streaming platform that can throw any random thing and the parents having zero control over what they see as a highly toxic and invasive agenda targeting the innocence of their kids.
