He couldn't resist the urge to virtue signal about Spotify having Joe Rogan, and staring a boycott. I'm not even a fan of JR, not that I dislike him either but that is some dumb sh*t.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@familyfunguy Dude. If I stopped listening to bands because of their fucked up ideologies and thinking they should be able to control other people and the way they think I would be stuck listening to my ducks quack. LOL
Serious tho. Green day are way political and that irritates the hell out of me. Now I can't listen to them any more because i know their political stance and hate it.
Also. Metallica going on a nut about people sharing their music. That was BS. to me.
Neal, as far as I am concerned, only has one good song and it is this one. LOL
But I do agree with you.

@familyfunguy that said, I wouldn't skip any of his tracks if he came on while listening to internet radio stations. It doesn't change the fact that a lot of his music is good.
If we all knew everything there was to know about all of the entertainers we liked, we would probably redefine what a dealbreaker is.

His music is almost as exciting as watching paint dry
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@carpediem I agree with you wholeheartedly.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@carpediem @Dainbramadge When Neil hears his own music on the radio I wonder if he changes the station and says, "Oh no, not that boring singer again."
helenS · 36-40, F
Saw the movie a couple of years ago, and I'd give it 5 out of five stars.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@helenS Yeah I have a vague recollection of see it it. Seemed like it was kind of bizarre.
Lostpoet · M
He's like a top ten singer songwriter for me. But he's one of those where I only listen to a couple of songs on his cd but I listen to those ones on repeat.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Lostpoet Way off Neil Young here but it got me thinking about this old song called "Tell me why" by Berlin.
The lyrics and how she delivers them, along with the sad violin would make for a very depressing song except for one thing - there is a TON of extremely fast electronic music and synthesizers...
There's a reason for your sad eyes, there's a reason for your sad life, there's a reason you blame it all on me... tell me why it's over.

@Lostpoet I won't say I have listened to much of Neil but this song is the only one I have heard by him that I would say I like.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@CestManan This is a pretty cool song. I like the contrast of her vocals against the music.
It reminds me of this one time my band was playing a labor day party at a camp ground.
One of the regular campers daughters wanted to sing a song with us.
She picked Back in babies arms by Patsy Cline.
We were a little heavier than that but we said we would do it.
I got the idea that song would sound good against a heavy metal backing so that's what we did. LOL
Man!!!!!!!!!! Did that song sound good like that.
But apparently we were the only ones who thought that. :-)

Whos your favorite Superhero
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@JohnOinger I guess if I had to pick one it would have to be iron Man.
Even though I could never wear that suit because I am so claustrophobic. LOL

thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Yup, I'm a fan. He's got some really good music (and then a loooot of very not good music, but that's the way it goes I suppose XD )
Still one of my favorites:

@thepreposterouspanda Yeah ... Nope .. LOL
It's his voice that churns my stomach.
Off key murmurs.
I guess, though, if I found out I had a brain tumor and was reflecting on my life and short future I may find myself in a mood to listen to this.
I mean the words " The world is turning. I hope it don't turn away" are pretty cool.
Maybe if some one else sang his stuff I may like it more. :-)

@Dainbramadge I totally get it. :) It's a voice that's either loved or hated haha.
Same reason I can't get into Bob Dylan, even as great a writer as he is. His sing-song mumbling drives me up in the wall. XD

@thepreposterouspanda Same here. I hate that mans voice.
You know he didn't always sing that way?
I heard some stuff where he actually sang.
It may have been a song him and Johnny Cash did together.

Way different.

YES I like NEIL YOUNG..whos Neal Young🤣 Great song the comments on youtube were interesting too
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@bookerdana I didn't see the comments. But the song is really cool. Even though I think the guitar should have been a little softer it's still a really cool song.
It just goes to show you that even a blind squirrel will find a nut once in awhile. LOL

I like him a bit, and i hope to see Dead Man sometime, the vintage Jarmusch's are keepers.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SW-User yeah this is about the only song I think that I like of his. But to be fair I haven't listened to a whole lot of him.
I saw the movie once a long time ago and it seems like it was really strange.

Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I like his music no nothing about him personality wise.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Justmeraeagain yeah it was mostly about the music.
There was that thing where he wanted some company to stop carrying the guy Joe Rogan he does a podcast because Neil didn't agree with what Joe thought. I don't know a whole lot about it myself. But for the most part I don't like his music.

carpediem · 61-69, M
I used to enjoy his music. Then I grew up.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@carpediem yeah I never really cared for him at all. And he really sucks playing the harmonica. LOL
carpediem · 61-69, M
@Dainbramadge He’s an old grouchy prick. Screw him and his over inflated sense of self worth.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
I’ve never been a fan
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Pinkstarburst so just out of curiosity what do you think of Bob Dylan?

No, his voice is annoying to me.

Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔.......................Neil Young is a legend!
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Jimmy2016 I know a lot of people think he is fantastic but he has never done anything for me to speak of.
The song is the only one I have ever heard by him that I liked.

Give and take some songs. I like some of his older material.
