So I finally got around to watching Pet Sematary tonight.

Am I the only one who feels like Louis pretty much got what he deserved in that movie? Like...
Spoiler alert for the 1% of the population who hasn't seen it, lol.
He saw how the cat came back, All nasty and evil with glowing eyes, and he thinks, "Yeah. That's what I want for my dead toddler. I want to bury him in the cursed ground so he comes back all homicidal and sһit." And the old man even told him what happened the last time somebody tried that. And then when the toddler kіӏӏs Louis's wife, what's he do? He tries it again with her.

Like, okay. I understand burying the cat there. The old man told him to. But the cat coming back and being pure nastiness should have taught him. And when it didn't, when he had to literally kіӏӏ his only kid because he came back as a homicidal little demon, he actually reasons that it's because little Gage had been dead too long. Okay, buddy. Sure. Whatever.

Please keep in mind, I am not criticizing the writing in this movie. This is absolutely what I expect from humanity if something like this patch of cursed ground is ever discovered. People will just keep messing with it until they resurrect something they can't put back down. Stephen King is absolutely correct in his estimation of human intelligence.

@SW-User I know, right? It's like, "Hey, the cat being buried in the cursed ground didn't work out so well, so let's try burying some other folks there! Surely it will be different, even when the old guy who showed me where the grounds is telling me it won't!"
