anyone else find the amityville films disturbing & scary

I have seen the first one - I've forgot the actors name in it now, but that scared me. Films frighten me more when they are based on true experiences. Like The Exorcist.
I haven't watched it yet but they did a remake of the first Amityville and the girl who starred in that, Melissa George, said strange things happened in the replica they built on set of the real house She also said that when you see her in the movie, that is real fear on her face.

I read the amityville horror was a hoax. The house was built on a burial ground, but the owners were overextended with some large mortgage payments and made up these outlandish stories to sell books.

Yes 1 and 3 were not nearly as scary as 2 the possession. When brother had sex with sister and she liked it then he killed her and whole family!
