GoT was a major pop culture phenomen for almost a decade... people talked about it and there were cross references and nods to it everywhere...
and then it just died.. people completely lost interresst in it... the only thing that people remember now is how awful the ending was.
i dont think there is any franchise that crashed that bad from thop notch to completely irrelevant that fast.
