Maybe the weekend is for music and film, with only a little reading
A Mon - Fri reading schedule, sure that could be best, and it is possible I might give up the vocaroo venture, if so I will be spending long chunks of time without doing anything on here. I currently love the machinations of hand eye coordination in doing them, but like timing readings like reading sprint people do, it can be just unnecessary baggage to the main thing, sucking the juice from those juicy books!! YES, I make up my mind, and all of those will come to an end.
This post shall hence be about films. Something about that, that will grow like those weeds in a Tom Baker Dr. Who story where foliage spreads menacingly. For with film, my appreciation of it has something to do with it being something more than just entertainment.
Whenever I talk about a film that made a big impact on me, it is usually because it made use of something in an overt way, so that it stylistically jumped out, and filled me with wonder and jubilant celebratory glee. Because they were very different than what was common, and of immediate reach in a pre-internet times.
But when these films are seen again, when one is older, those things can almost be like blemishes, or make up covering other things that are blemishes.
When films were doing serious things, there's portrayals often of things that one would not be wanting to see and hear.
When I was discovering unusual and unique arthouse, there were golden little nuggets within many where one had to endure something beforehand, and often after the golden moments.
Films with golden moments, those are the films in my current faves that are the end result of the 2004 to 2020(ish) period.
To go forward with the film journey is something I struggle with, is it worth the effort, some stellar recent ( what was seen in the last 2 yrs) films seen can now be leisurely added to this post as proofs that some form of continuance has been going on. Is there room for film being an ongoing interest with also all those books!! Choices choices choices!!
Let the ultimate aim for this thread be 1,000 films, and only at the 200th mark can there appear anything i've always talked about.
Intellishockuals
I believe in films that can awaken not so much to reassure but as proceeding forward
