Star Spangled to Death - Ken Jacobs (2004)

This was completed during Bush Jr's term and I felt the same things as the filmmakers here did at the time, you can only imagine how a film like this would be made nowadays, it would be insane, and this goes pretty far in it's righteous indignation exploration, much of it is actual "educational" films students would have to watch in school, and for a real treat you get up and close with some legends of the Underground scene most notably Jack Smith, who's film Flaming Creatures is one of the Underground's most infamous films. Jack acts so crazy in this at the end of a segment he's helping people onto the bus, and the German song playing there Ticaticta or something like that instantly became a song fave. One last thing I must boast about is that for the DVD set of this I got it straight from Ken Jacobs' own website, SIGNED!!! If anyone goes through it all, I owe you at least the most expensive SW gift available ......:)

Please note this version leaves out the text on screen, that's a big part of the film, sometimes it requires you to pause to read it all, because it's on the screen for just a flash.
