The Gospel According to St Matthew (1964) - Pasolini

I love the music in this, opening credits one is by the same group that the movie If ... uses, Missa Luba, for me it always sounded like a hippy version of Catholicism. 1st heard about it long before bowing the knee to arthouse cinema it was when I thought I was a Bible believer, and it was talked about in a book by Philip Yancey. Iconic film when all's said and done, there's surely no OTT acting going on, but some of the costumes are over the top, and if one knows the director at all, there's a dose of tragedy in it, like most of his films.

Also here's a companion short film, kind of like a behind the scenes experience La ricotta .... as usual the musical choices here is what makes me like it so much!!
