In my opinion, this is the best American narrative film, the 2 leads Gena Rowlands and Peter Falk provide a dynamic acting masterclass, one of my favorite memories of showing films to my folks was of this, it landed well, and at least for that day all 3 of us shared a dizzying esteem for cinema.

John Cassavetes was amazing, both as an actor and filmmaker. He passed much too soon.
