Gotta add some style into the film playing night with LOLA MONTES

This would be one of the first i'd upgrade to Blu-ray, Max Ophuls' dizzyingly technicolor fantasia about some lady's rise and fall into a circus spotlight act. One of Fassbinder's top 10 films too!! Peter Ustinov plays the circus leader with a whip. Exquisite use of filling up the technicolor widescreen, rich ornamentation, elegant set pieces that seem to come from those 19th century novels, like for real and not the Hollywood bastardization of such things with those all too flashy fake doll perfection visuals. Lola Montes was the height that a great director reached at the end of his career, his earlier films are very good too.
