when old films are put on to dvd

are you getting the full original film as it was originally shown? or are edits and alterations common place...i heard that they commonly edit things out and make other unnecessary alterations.....but am i wrong?

i have lots of dvds of old classic films so i'm hoping i get the full original film without any edits and alterations.

I think the companies will go through and do edits if they feel like they have to. With magnetic storage, VHS, they can't take that from your home and edit it but, a movie that is put onto a DVD could be edited before it's released to the public.

@twiigss thanks for your thoughts, i think its a shame as i have a lot of old films on dvd, i don't have any vhs tapes anymore or a player either.

@darkmere1983 You're welcome. Yeah my VCR to DVD recorder broke. So, I have to figure out how to fix it or hopefully find a new one.

@darkmere1983 Yeah I'm not sure if you can buy them anymore. I'm willing to bet eBay would have them, maybe Amazon but hard to say.

All my best sir, take care.
