Which film do you consider to be a masterpiece?

I've seen thousands of films but there are only two that I might consider masterpieces, both directed by Hitchcock: "Vertigo" and "Rear Window". They aren't my only favourites by him, but they're two that at might consider come close to that description.

@Vivaci script? Some parts in planet of the apes are pretty strange. Like when those scientists want to save Charleton Heston... and ask him to wear some rags so he won't seem suspicious. Charleton Heston just refuses and says something like: "You really think I'm going to wear that, that stinks.". If that is your answer to me when I'm trying to help you out at the risk of my own life, then I think I stop you back in the cage myself 😅

@Kwek00 Jaws was superb, in my opinion. Platoon seemed over-rated to me. Planet if the Apes interesting but probably more relevant when it was first released. Not watcged Ben Hur.
