Which film do you consider to be a masterpiece?

I've seen thousands of films but there are only two that I might consider masterpieces, both directed by Hitchcock: "Vertigo" and "Rear Window". They aren't my only favourites by him, but they're two that at might consider come close to that description.

@Kwek00 [i]Once Upon A Time... [/i] Brilliant. The wonderful Morricone score was written and recorded and the film cut to it - amazing.

@Kwek00 Based on [i]High Noon[/i] I seem to remember. They got some old western actors in for that scene including Jack Elam who was the drunk in that film.

@Frank52 I have no idea. I think it's the best sergio leone western. Altough if I just want to look something... I probably pick out "For a few dollars more" ... but "Once Upon a Time in the West" just has a higher quality for me.

@bijouxbroussard Really good German movie and some incredible acting.

And someone should also mention "The Big Lebowski". I was skimming over here and saw Revenant mentioned "Das Boot" ... that's also an incredible German movie.
