Okay, Can we Grandparents just admit it?

I have 3 awesome grandsons. Each of them distinctly different and wonderful. I can't get enough of any of them. I love them all unconditionally and I can't imagine a world where I didn't have access to any of them. There's nothing I own that I wouldn't give up for any of them on a moment's notice.

I love those 3 Thunderball's of excitement and youth.

But I'm gonna say it out loud...

The first is my Guy and I love him more!

I treat them all a bit different but not based on the love factor. It's based on their personalities.
They all get what they need from me and I'd die for any of them if it would save them or make them even smile for an extra minute.

But when it comes right down to it..., I love the first one the best.

Okay, everyone is now free to tell me how wrong it sounds to say that.
Especially all of you younger people that noticed and watched your grandparents give just that tiny bit extra to your older sibling or cousin...

I'm sorry that you noticed and I want to assure that your grandparents really did love you unconditionally.

You'll understand it a bit better when your first grandkid is born.
Maybe you'll even float back in time to when you saw this post..? 😏

It's a thing.
Sorry.
First place is almost always first place....

To my right is the Fave - Xavier (7)
To my left is the 2nd - Thorin (3)
Lufian (1.5) isn't shown because he had other things to do that day

Hoping for that promotion to Grandpa in the next couple of years.

Enjoy your time with them.

Being a grandparent is the BEST!!!😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Because you get to spoil then give them back....
Admit it.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@HikingMan Of course. Its not my job to turn them into responsible adults. I get to say Yes to things the parents have to say No to. The twin girls are about to turn 14. Just after they were 13, their mother was starting to get on their case about schoolwork. So I dug out all her secondary school report books, which her school kept up in a highly detailed fashion.. And they spent a whole afternoon browsing through them in fits of laughter. (Their mother wasnt there of course.) I always promised her I would get revenge on her through her kids for the hell she put through as a teenager. I am a man of my word..😷

I understand completely! I was my grandparents first grandchild … and boy did their favoritism show. In a lot of ways. Especially my papaws favoritism.
HikingMan · 51-55, M
@CharityRae It's just a thing. There's no denying it and any grandparent that comes here and says differently..., they're lying to themselves only because they can't lie to me.

I understand the political correctness that people want to try and maintain. But falsity, even by an omission is a lie.

My second is coming soon. I have thought about this. I feel like I gave everything I had for my first and not sure I have as much energy now. But I’m hoping it’s just automatic. As for your theory, I’ll let you know.

@caccoon
1.) Why Not

2.) Because it's true

@HikingMan Why is the oldest your favourite?

Maybe it's just the time spent?
But honestly, I think it goes deeper than that on a psychological standpoint.

There's a whole transformation that takes place in parents as they transition into grandparents, and go through all of their emotions and thoughts as their kids become parents and make them grandparents.

It's like a lightning bolt of emotions that can't be tempered or paused.
It's a whole thing that can't be adequately described by me right now.
It's just there.

Do you remember your first kiss?
That pales by far in comparison.

Sorry
