Every generation thinks all other generations are stupid. Usually, they’re not wrong, but they’re not right either.
I often laugh at people making fun of old folks not understanding technology. It’s often true. However, I wonder how the kids would manage things we did, without Google and cell phones. It’s not stupidity, it’s a matter of tools at your fingertips.
Oldsters often mistrust brand new things, and sometimes we’re right. When you Google something, how do you know the information is accurate? You don’t.
When I started on SW, many times I’d read a post that I thought was someone contemplating ending their life. Almost always it turned out to be song lyrics.
With the internet, you DO have a lot of information available. What most people, young or old, do is read until they find something that supports what they thought all along.

By the way, I think the pendulum is starting to swing, at least on YouTube.
I noticed a while ago that, disregarding the statistics that state men are about 3-1 more likely to get caught drunk-driving, channels on YT featuring women’s DUI arrests about 1-20. Accidental?
And women assaulting men are showing up far more frequently than five years ago. Fake SA claims are climbing, too.
Maybe in another century, if the internet still exists, it will balance.

@Mamapolo2016 They make you see what they want you to see.
It's the same trick employed by the news covering immigration only when the right is at the opposition, the statistics show steady numbers year after year, but you only hear about it when a certain party needs it as a campaign point.
The average person that doesn't bother to check the data effectively believes that immigration decreases when the right is in charge.

@bijouxbroussard There's definitely propaganda targeted at specific age groups (the manosphere being one for instance) so yeah, I myself tend to blame age group X for falling for X-targeted propaganda, but while still being aware of exceptions and the fact that if X age group didn't exist propaganda would still be there just with a different target

I recently saw a video that may or may not be true about two mountain climbers who were the first from their country to climb Mt Everest under certain criteria.
They were celebrated, feted, and honored with medals, until it became clear it was a hoax. They did not make it to the peak. There WERE pics, but supposedly somebody else’s photos, and they just inserted their faces with Photoshop.
So, “pics or it didn’t happen” no longer applies. There were pics, but it didn’t happen.
