I think they did that with westerns 50 years ago. And plays 100 years ago.
I think Sci-fi is actually at its lowest point right now. Disney has failed several releases the last 5 years as well. Moana remake flopped, snow white flopped, Tron Ares flopped.I don't expect really much to do well or if they do well, be actually good movies.
Escapism is not a bad thing if in moderation, it can do good ro weather a storm. But... It can be a problem. But that's a mental health crisis issue not a symptom of a failing movie industry.
