Have you ever seen the first theatrical release poster for the original Mulan?

That does not match the tone of the film at all! 😯 Based on the poster, it looks like a darker, more action-oriented film rather than the light-hearted comical adventure flick we got. Makes one wonder if that might've been the plan for the movie during development, before they decided to do it in typical light-hearted Disney fashion. 🤔 That wouldn't surprise me, considering they had just come off [i]The Hunchback of Notre Dame[/i] two years prior, which was way darker and more mature atypical of Disney. But after that movie didn't do well, perhaps they decided to do a complete rewrite and make [i]Mulan[/i] more lighter in tone, but they already had produced the above teaser poster, so they just went with that. Just a theory 🤷‍♀️
