Do you think blowing up a planet is worst than a bit of cannibalism?

There's this list of the top 100 cinema villains and Hannibal Lecter was number 1 while Darth Vader was number 3!!!! With Norman bloody Bates as number 2. I mean what did Hannibal do but eat a few lads and Norman? Please, oh sure he had a few screws loose but Vader blew up a planet, tortured his own daughter and helped kill his own pregnant wife and there was all those children. Even without all the other stuff, PLANETCIDE!!! A whole planet, billions of people and fluffy little animals!!!

@Allelse Well a good lawyer would argue he did not order the destruction of Alderaan and as for Padme, poor script aside, she was alive once he choked her and she just gave up on life (As she was no longer needed in the plot) but if we're talking war crimes, Vader if he had survived the Death Star, he would have been the trial of the century

@Reaverwolf I wonder what would have happened if Anakin, now returned had been put on trial. If he'd just have pled guilty and spent the remainder of his life in space jail.

@Allelse He would not have had a lot of supporters, but it is Star Wars (Before Disney) So Luke might have got him house arrest

@Reaverwolf HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Bloody house arrest, with the ankle bracelet and all. He wouldn't be too hard to keep a hold of, just stick him in one of those iron lungs from the 70s. He wont be going nowhere.

@Reaverwolf And don't be too hard on the prequels, they gave me a lot of joy when I was growing up.
Reaverwolf · M
@Allelse Oh no, I loved the prequels, am an ardent defender of them.

@Allelse And if he did step off his property, who is going to tell him differently?
"Sir, you are outside of your property"
"No, I am not"
"No, you are not"

@Reaverwolf Good, good. It's just a lot of people start foaming at the mouth with rage at the prequels, when the original movies have their flaws too, but the die hard traditionalists are happy to overlook them and defend them to the death.

@Allelse I think the issue with the die-hard fans, when they saw the originals they were kids and did not have a care in the world, when the prequels came out, they had jobs and could not recapture that magic and thus got butt hurt about it, well until Disney took over and now the prequels are considered great by a lot more people lol

@Reaverwolf I agree, they wanted to be nostalgia baited, hook line and sinker while George Lucas was like Yee-Haw!!!! I got a bunch of cash and I wanna go hog wild and expand the shit out of this franchise. Also I get why he used a lot of CGI, I mean in his day with all those sets and doing it all from the ground up, I can get why he was like "FUCK IT!!! Computer that shit!!!". Yeah Disney, Well Disney tried to nostalgia bait people and it worked, at first, but then I mean where can you go if aren't willing to take a risk, aren't willing to get some angry feedback and expand on things. Whatever plan they had just seemed to fall apart!!! But still!!! The newer movies aren't for me but if they make people happy then that's all with me, I can always invent my own stories to what happened after Return of the Jedi.

@Allelse One of Disney's biggest mistakes was to drop the Expanded Universe material and not get me started on how they treated the legacy characters as for the prequels, even with all the CG, he still managed to expand the universe, where Disney pretty much just rehashed old locations. I think every show has been stuck on Tattoine LOL
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Reaverwolf They didn't even take what George had in mind for the sequels, they asked him to give them some written ideas he had and they ignored it. And yeah they ignored the expanded stuff which there is a ton of. Even if they wanted to use their own writers, they could have taken the other material and used it as a basis. And the emperor surviving by just somehow surviving? At least in the expanded it's got to do with soul moving into a clone body, I think, I don't remember so much anymore, I read most of it when I was a teenager.

@Allelse The Emperor coming back was from the Dark Horse comic book series, Dark Empire, which was never one of my favourites, but bringing him back in the last Disney movie was so dumb and just showed how they had painted themselves into a corner.

I think I have dark Empire on audio somewhere as well as the original radio plays
