Not sure how the studio POSSIBLY thought there wouldn't be backlash given how relevant the story itself is to the current political climate.

i haven't seen the new one or heard about it, but i had actually been craving to watch it again recently funny enough. i had just recently watched the new Lord of the Flies and wanted to watch the older Animal farm again and then see if there were any newer ones. i will have to look around and find them all. this used to be required reading in highschool, along with LoTF

@Teirdalin oh wow. i'm watching the first video you posted atm, then going to move on to the second after. i have to see what they're on about.

i sort of could understand. i felt like this about the Lorax remake. i LOVE the old one. but not a fan of the new one

I can't imagine the studios letting anyone do an accurate adaptation of "Animal Farm" or "1984" as long as the Republicans are in charge.

I'm not sure people today understand Orwell's aim. Luckily, he made his position clear in his 1946 essay "Why I Write"

ok.. i see what you mean now... they gave this the Lorax treatment to make it appealing to genz and alpha, which is super disappointing :/ i'd still watch it once, but ehhh
