I remember on 🩶💀🤖, there was an episode that was so well done, it was starting to push the envelope of 'almost too real'. And that was a few years ago.
Its amazing how good animation has got.
Im particularly loving the new 2.5D animation direction that is bringing 'art' and 'style type' back into it and adding creative uniqueness to animation.
Two that come mind are the Spiderverse movies and the Arcane series.
They blow me away. Give me goosebumps they are just SO GOOD

Yeah, stylized art is super cool. It's impressive to animate photo realistic images but it begins to all look the same. It'll plateau I think, it'll only get so good before it can't be improved anymore

And AI has taken that over anyway.
Which.....i think is a good thing . It's bringing the 'art' back into it. Which is what animation was all about in the first place. Disney... Ghibli....it's all coming back to the artists vision and away from the technical perfection.
Not dissing Pixar... fucking LOVE Pixar💪....wish Disney hadn't bought them. But i think the organic is coming back into it.
