Most adult animated shows are so childish

There are exceptions, namely those who provide cleverly-written social and political satire. But with most adult cartoons (at least in western animation), it's like they feel they have to be extra edgy and shocking for them to be taken seriously, but they only end up being even more childish than cartoons actually made for children! Shows like Invincible and Arcane are refreshing examples of adult animation that can have solid action, tell a great story and most of all, be mature. They're proof that adult cartoons don't need to be obscene or over-the-top to be good and I hope they'll influence others to do the same so we can start seeing more like them.
