Surprising "Sopranos" fact

I started recently rewatching some of The Sopranos for the third time. Just truly superb show, acting and writing. So I looked up when James Gandolfini won an Emmy for Best Actor on YouTube. Clips keep popping up now of interviews with him and other cast too.

Tonight I watched a clip where he's in an interview, and said he truly thought another actor would get the lead of Tony Soprano. And the interviewer asked, someone else, like how? And he replied someone more suave, good looking etc... and that he really didn't believe he could do the lead role. WOW he's just amazing as Tony, and in general as an actor....and even HE had high self doubt going into this unprecedented show. Who knew?? I guess our self doubts can be way off!! It was inspiring to me because I live with severe self doubt.
I can't imagine any other actor portraying this multilayered Tony, than him💓🙂👍

I was a big fan. But I was so disappointed with the ending I've never watched it since.

@hunkalove That ending was so startling!! You wish there WAS conclusion...I believe he would have been killed at the end, if it had been confused a few minutes more. 😢
@hunkalove I loved the ending because it was left up to decide what happened but I totally understand why some people felt disappointed

@hunkalove It Should say, if it had been CONTINUED a few minutes more. Not *confused * lol damn autocorrect!

I never watched it.

But I watched Game of Thrones. Google AI says this about it:

"The Sopranos in Middle-Earth" is the famous two-second pitch used by creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to sell Game of Thrones to HBO, describing a gritty world of organized crime, family squabbles, and moral decay set against an epic fantasy backdrop.

Another show like it was another HBO series I watched, called Rome.

@JoyfulSilence oh that's interesting the way they explained it! I never would have compared Game of Thrones to The Sopranos but they do both have. Families with many tough issues. You should definitely see The Sopranos. It's my favorite show out of any show. Great cast, great acting, and you feel as if you're there, they make it that real and with relatable human issues. You'll want to see the next episode and the next right after each other! Libraries have it, loaned out for free. I highly recommend seeing it🙂

@Baybreeze

I used to have HBO but never got around to watching it. I cancelled HBO recently because I hardly ever watched anything on there.

Honestly, all I really watch nowadays is YouTube in their app on my cable TV.
Do you think he got whacked in the diner at the end?
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Jimbo6969 I think yes, that he would have been 🙁
@Baybreeze I go back and forth with it

knew a few former mobsters, they liked sopranos because they didn't cast the stereotypical/cliche boss like every other movie/show. the common portrayals are completely absurd.
@wildbill83 agreed
I first saw James Gandolfini in Get Shorty with John Travolta, Danny DeVito, and the rest of the all-star cast. He definitely held his own even though it was a small part.

You would be amazed by the number of people with high self-doubt. After Robin Williams passed, I saw actors who knew him speaking about his self-doubt and other issues he hid.
I didnt understand why they didnt just take out guys more often who was causing problems or didnt listen to the boss.
