Usually I answer Casablanca to this question!
@Cowboybob

No one but Bogart could play Rick Blaine.
Probably Pink Flamingos because I'm a weirdo who loves John Waters movies
@Chern0bylplaygr0unds I remember renting that from a video store as a teenager.
After recovering from the shock and whiplash I had to see every John Waters film.

My all-time favorite is probably Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, a 1922 silent German Expressionist vampire film.
A good contemporary movie, in my opinion, is Annihilation, a 2018 science-fiction cosmic horror film; best Lovecraftian style film I've ever seen.
I don't like realism in film too much: I see enough realism in the real world. I need other-wordly escapism.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
The Silence of the Lambs
