I think pop rocks are used in movies to represent drugs.

they use all kinds of different stuff. they can't use real drugs because that's illegal

Evrything in Movies is fake! I like how guys and gals can both hit several shots in a row and never slur a word or lose their train of thoughts let alone drive shoot a gun or fight like they are still sober.
