God this movie sucks

You’d figure a movie about a roman legion encountering werewolves would be awesome but it’s just so badly directed and the actors are so bad it’s ruined. Also they never show the damn werewolves, it’s a werewolf movie that doesn’t actually show werewolves in it. I get you need to keep it cheap but you seriously can’t even afford a monster costume?

They might have been trying suspense rather than cheap visuals. Handled well by skilled actors and directors, that can be very effective.

Alfred Hitchcock proved how successful that can be for creating a really frightening film.

The film you saw seemed to proved how successful, inept acting and production can be for creating rubbish.

Though the basic theme is so silly that even Hitchcock could not have saved it - he would anyway likely have refused to make it. His stories used "real" people and locations, and fairly credible plots.
