Someone is obviously attempting to make SciFi capitalistic. 🫤
See the Heinlein SciFi stories. 🫤

@whowasthatmaskedman well I not a fan of the acronym TANSTAAFL. It's far to capitalistic for me. Nor a fan of Starship Troopers. 🫤

@DeWayfarer I hated the Starship Troopers movie. It was nothing like the book. One needs to remember that the book was written in a very different time. The time of Pearl Harbour and Midway..I recommend the book.. As for "There aint no such thing as a free lunch" (for those who didnt get it) I have found it to be a good guiding principle. Look for whats in it for the other person. True, it may just be a nice warm feeling. But understanding what it is, will help you reach a better solution.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I really don't like bipolar sayings in general. The opposite isn't true either.

@DeWayfarer Again I agree. Maybe this is the core of my dislike for the public perception of US politics. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. May be true, today. But by this afternoon is can change. Equally, you being wrong, doesnt make me right. There is always more than one way to be wrong.. But Heinleins protagonists are hard nosed practical people who understand human nature. I can respect that even when I dont agree with the values.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I really don't believe Heinlein understood human nature. The life of Lazzarus made that self evident. The man was the worst lecherous character of the time.
