Latest one I am watching is Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens.

It focuses on the corrupting influence of money, social mobility and identity in Victorian London.

That was the best of the BBC and other Brit TV to me -- the days before larger budgets led them to imitate US TV and the shows were based on good writing and fine acting. Been watching FALL OF EAGLES here.
