Because it's not really important to them, it's just now they want to feel like they're doing something.

I'm not just being cynical and negative. I understand wanting to do something, and you can control whom you give your money to (for the most part), so now there's a reason to change where your money goes. But it wasn't really about supporting public broadcasting. At least not for most.

I don't know. People don't want to sit around and feel like there's nothing they can do while everything gets worse. And maybe now they'll care more about the dwindling public arts in this country, so that's not really a bad thing in the end.

The networks didn't take those guys off their stations willingly. I think they are just trying to avoid being trump's next target. That and some kind of merger deals that need White House approval.

I imagine the people who are canceling their subscriptions to those stations will just re-subscribe soon.
Boycotts do not usually last long.

Well I didn't know they were switching to PBS, but I think not enough people were watching PBS to really even keep them on their radar.

@SlippingAway PBS used to get some federal funding, of course they lean Left.

There wasn't really this huge outcry because PBS is no where near as popular as corporate TV stations.

FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
