@FreddieUK To be fair, media like TV,movies and radio have always been privately controlled, so there’s a shall group of rich people that decide what we can see. If they think something particular will get in the way of them making money, or if they think people will stop watching, they’re free to not make it.
Someone who owns a lot of ABC stations didn’t like what Kimmel said so they complained to ABC who agreed to end the show did now. If Kimmel finds another a soapbox to speak from,he’s free to do that.
It's crazy to me seeing how many people seem capable of grasping the concept of 'I didn't like him/watch him/agree with him but he shouldn't have lost his job', but were unable to manage the same last week when someone lost their LIFE. Being happy, or at best indifferent to murder but someone losing their job is what makes them irate.
Unfortunately we're now in a period of reaping, the sowing was done a long time before when it was 'the other side' being cancelled and no-one complaining now seemed too upset about it.
Never really been a huge fan of him but I don’t agree with a firing over politics. Now if his ratings were garbage and the network decided his brand wasn’t working for them anymore…that’s their right of course. But govt threats over speech isn’t the way.

If you watched his whole monologue all he did is make jokes about Trump. That’s all he ever does. He can be funny but he has to get off the soapbox. There are so many other things that are funny. Unfortunately, he has to do what he is told . He is one of the left’s mouthpieces. I wonder what they have on him. He is trapped. He cannot produce an original thought. Very sad.
Seems there are a few stories floating around that even Fox news is facing law suits for defamation of tRump. Because, these conservative outlets were upset that tRump would not release the epstein files.

Jimmy Kimmel was fired for lying to the American people. Kimmel is condemning Maga for not recognizing the shooter as one of their own. According to evidence, the shooter was a liberal and a supporter of ANTIFA.
America is now accepting blatant fascism now as Trump threatens to revoke licences of news organizations that "are against him". It doesn't matter if you like Kimmel, the government cant repress the first amendment rughrs if the people. This is a very scary time. Meanwhile, Trump is saying he will send troops into Chicago

I am glad the Sinclair family has done this. Left just doesnt like when it happens to them but they have cheered when it happens to conservative productions.

MAGAts and cultists don't look far enough ahead and realize if one can be censored all can be censored. And that looks like what the administration is actually about. WASHINGTON ‒ President Donald Trump said overwhelming negative coverage of him by television networks should be grounds for the Federal Communications Commission to revoke broadcast licenses.
Trump made the suggestion as he defended FCC chairman Brendan Carr for pressuring ABC to pull comedian Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show off the airwaves over comments Kimmel made regarding the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kimmel was suspended indefinitely.
“They're 97% against ‒ they give me only bad publicity or press," Trump claimed in a Sept. 18 gaggle with reporters aboard Air Force One as he flew back to the United States from the United Kingdom. "I mean, they’re getting a license. I would think maybe their license should be taken away. It will be up to Brendan Carr.”
@TradEmily The government can sensor over and over and over again. Kirk is a one and done. Now if Kimmel is a one and done you may be right. But trump is just getting warmed.
@JimboSaturn what about all the years conservatives were blocked from social media. Cancelled or fired for comments they made during interviews. Tucker Carlson for example. Also he isn’t fired he was suspended so the jury is still out. If free speech is free then the road has to travel both ways. Thats fair to me.
