Food is as much an emotional addiction as a motor addiction. When I was dieting I would bring raspberries to the movie theatre to have the sensation of reaching into a container and eating bites of food during a movie.
@Muthafukajones I'm a chocolate lover too. I typically hate white chocolate, but tried a Lindt peppermint truffle last year, it has white chocolate. Wow THAT was really good 😋
@Muthafukajones it’s true and I never buy my favourite junk foods because I’ll eat them. If I buy cookies or chips as a treat for my kids, it has to be a flavour that I don’t like.
@Jenny1234 I asked a smoker once about how hard it was for them to quit smoking. One of the hardest parts is not knowing what to do with their hands when out in social situations. The motor need to hold the cigarette and smoke becomes ingrained as much as the need for the nicotine causing anxiety. I suggested they order a glass of water and sip it whenever they felt the need to use their hands or put something in their mouth. They told me it helped a lot. It’s such a multifaceted issue.
@Muthafukajones I quit cold turkey the day I found out I was pregnant. It was especially hard when I was driving or after a meal. I began to put a pen between my fingers when I had the urge. It worked out. After about two months, it was much easier.
