On tv shows or movies when someone is drowning and they are revived with CPR and start coughing up water why do they never turn them on their side?

Im not a nurse but wouldn't it be easier to cough out water when laying onto your side?

IRL you would if you can physically move the patient after assessing them for a neck injury. Some folks weigh a ton!

@TexChik I watched CHiP’s recently, and they were responding to an accident. They run up to a guy laying on the ground complaining about his neck and back hurting. Ponch immediately grabs him under the shoulders and drags him 20 feet. I had to pause until I finished laughing.
