On tv shows or movies when someone is drowning and they are revived with CPR and start coughing up water why do they never turn them on their side?

Im not a nurse but wouldn't it be easier to cough out water when laying onto your side?

It's like a lot of things in drama: the action is symbolic of an event rather than a faithful realist enactment of fact. Similarly, heart attacks don't always happen as portrayed and sex is very stylised. Most heroes would be dead after their first beating if what you see on the screen was to be taken at face value.

@FreddieUK true but if theyre detailed enough to fill an actors mouth with water and force them to lay on their back and cpugh they could as easily have them rolled over. It just gives me anxiety.
