Why do most movies have low ratings?

Why do most movies seem to have low ratings? What gives? Humans are able to build sophisticated technology like the combustion engine, touch screen phones and AI but yet they can't see to make good movies.

It's not complex NASA rocket science.

Movies are subjective. It's not like a phone which can objectively work well or poorly.

@cyberdude28 People have diverse taste. It's hard to make a movie that appeals to people across the population.
