@CookieCrisp
I will admit, those older movies have an unrealistic way of presenting 'reality' even for it's own time, which was the same kind of reality that was portrayed in those old black and white 'Leave it to Beaver' re-runs, or 'Little House on the Prairie' re-runs from 50 years ago.
@swirlie sounds about the same as today, nothing really portrays reality in the movies

Keep in mind that "It's a Wonderful Life" was actually filmed and released in 1947, which of course was 2 years after WWII. It depicted a kinder time than what the whole world had just experienced for the previous 10 years as tensions heated up in Europe.

I do too! I subscribe to old black and white movies from that era on my cable TV subscription each month, which I watch with a blanket wrapped around me and a box of kleenex tissues within handy reach! 🥹

Me I have huge collection of old 35mm movies still on film, movie projectors, cameras, hand crank record players and I full working darkroom in my house

I really hate modern technology
