@ChipmunkErnie When I was about 12 years old, I thought Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein was the most brilliant cinematic masterpiece I had ever seen!
I was still young enough to be scared by the monsters. But I was old enough to appreciate that the movie was doing something unique: alternating horror with humor, making me laugh in between the times I was frightened. It was probably the first time that I watched a movie while thinking about watching a movie, and thinking about moviemaking as an art.
Years later, when I watched Fargo, I thought of the old Abbot and Costello movie and thought, "this is doing something similar, alternating between grizzly stuff and funny stuff."
@DrWatson IMO, A&CMF holds up pretty well today. The comedy was supplied by A&C, and the monsters were treated as serious. It also brought back Bela Lugosi as Dracula...only his 2nd time since the '31 original....Lon Chaney as doomed lycanthrope Larry Talbot, for the 5th time, character actor Glenn Strange, as Frankenstein's monster for the 3rd time....and the voice of Vincent Price, since his '40 The Invisible Man Returns.
I missed Brennan but I'll look out for Bond in Son.
This probably isn't your kind of movie but check out who all appeared in a Gene Kelly, Red Skelton and Lucille Ball movie called Du Barry Was a Lady @ IMDb. How often do Maurice Costello, Lana Turner, Zero Mostel, Louise Beavers, Sig Arno, Hugh Beaumont and Tommy Dorsey appear in the same movie?
@RenFur Brennan is in the scene inside the house...Brennan says "Poor old Neumann." They hear a moan coming from a room up the stairs. Minnie rushes up and opens the door and says: "There's another one...in there....Frau Neumann!"
Back in the 70's there was a movie called King of Hearts. It was trilingual (German, French, and English), set in France during WWI.
It was a bit of a "cult classic", in that there were some theaters in big cities that showed the film every day for years! And it was often shown on college campuses.
I have no idea how many times I went to see it, but I am sure no other film has come close.
@RenFur It was like the phenomenon of Rocky Horror Picture Show, only daily! (In duplex theaters, usually.) A theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts had in on the marquee for my entire undergraduate career. Then I went to Madison, Wisconsin, where one theater showed it every few weeks. (An "arts" theater that showed older movies.)
Spaceballs, Zoolander, and The Secret Garden. Maybe also The Mighty Ducks, because that was a favorite of mine and my sister’s when we were kids. We watched that a [i]lot[/i].

Hmmm... Harold and maude. I dont know how many times. Seven brides for seven brothers. ( i used to watch it with my mother. Last time, a month or so before she passed). Although the former is my favorite, i know ive seen the latter more times.
@bijouxbroussard I've only watched the Godfather once, believe it or not. It was a few years ago, and I thought it was incredibly good. Certainly better than what I had expected.
Casablanca is definitely one I have seen several times and will continue to see.
Someone once told me that when she was in college, she asked a friend to join her to go see that film on campus. The friend said, "No thanks, I've already seen it " . My friend was stunned: you don't say that about Casablanca! 😄
@DrWatson I read the Mario Puzo novel when I was 12 and found it fascinating, and when the movie came out Pop, who had also read it, took me to go see it. He said (in his opinion) it was one of the few times the movie was on par with the novel.
