I don't know any good horror stuff. But if you're looking for a really cute romance movie without all the vulgarity, I recommend Murphy's Romance. It's an older movie with James Garner and Sally Field.

I love romantic movies but dont need to see what they do between the sheets for longer than necessary.
BlondilyF
@DrWatson I read they add sex scenes not only to get ratings but to fill in the gaps.
DrWatson70-79, M
@Blondily That reminds me of a convention that was common in old black and white movies. The gaps were filled in with scenes of waves crashing on a beach. That was the "code" for sex. So even if a couple was in an apartment in the middle of a city, and they kiss, the next scene is waves crashing on a beach! 馃槃

@DrWatson I wish they'd still do that! 馃槅

When people interact and become attracted to each other, romance happens. Certainly, it does not have to be BJ's and hand jobs but to be an accurate movie about human nature; they are going to kiss, hug, and grope a little. But I like where your morality filters are at. 馃槈

@TexChik Heey, I don't mind watching romance movies. But in other genre of movies when they start groping "a little" - it makes me uncomfortable 馃ぃ
For example LotR - 0.05% romance (Arwen and Aragorn) 馃榿

@As0if Good for you. 鈽猴笍

I don't mind a good bit of sexual vulgarity, but I don't like it when it is just forced into a movie where it doesn't fit or belong.
As0if22-25, F
@ChipmunkErnie Fair enough 馃榿

One of my favorites is called Videodrome. I鈥檝e seen several really good horror movies from David Cronenberg, who was Videodrome鈥檚 director. I鈥檝e read that bodily transformations is like a central theme of his movies. I would describe them as weird, trippy, psychological horror movies.
As0if22-25, F
@Theyitis Gonna give it a shot 鈽猴笍 Looks interesting

How about The Thing or Alien? Both really good older (kind of) horror films!

If u ever seen the scream movies that one man he tell us the rules of surviving a horror movie. If there is a sex scene they are guaranteed to be killed
Does romance have to be vulgar ?
I prefer affection to seeing folks getting chopped up. But that鈥檚 just me. 馃
As0if22-25, F
@DrWatson But you get me. Any kind of romance, romance can include sexual scenes. And that's a no!
As0if22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 Yesss, psychological horrors are the best
@basilfawlty89 I tended to think of those as "thrillers", but yes, I can enjoy those, too.

@As0if This reminds me of a longtime friend, when we took her then-12 year old son with us to a movie鈥攁n action film. She had no problem with him watching the shootouts and the fistfights, even a scene with torture.

But then there was a brief scene with the protagonist in bed with a woman (nothing explicit鈥攖hey were covered and just talking)-but my friend clapped a hand over her son鈥檚 eyes. I held my tongue, but thought that was so silly. 馃檮

Eraserhead

@basilfawlty89 Session 9 it is 馃榿 watched the others. Except Eraserhead (I'm completely lost at that trailer)
For me it has to be the Universal Studio Classics, I cannot stand most of the modern horror movies, too much gore, I want suspense.
As0if22-25, F
@NativePortlander1970 Well I think that they lack good stories lately, so they make just anything. It's not even chilling nor scary. Just jumpscares, ofc I'm gonna get scared on loud sound out of nowhere 馃槖
@As0if The old classics had great story plots, today it seems as though they use a dartboard.
