why is it the Older you get the more Back you go in years in memories ?

Our short-term memories start to fail us, but our long-term memories remain fully intact.

Probably because as things change so much we look back with nostalgia at those memories. I was born on a farm, we didn’t have many electrical things so we were mostly low-tech but we still knew how to have fun & if anyone came to visit we focused our attention on them and made the most of that time. No staring at a tv or a cell phone while they were talking. There are small things that might seem insignificant that I miss..if I see them on an old movie it will bring a wave of nostalgia…a screen door slamming, a house phone ringing, a grandma wearing a house dress and working out in her garden, flower-lined paths leading up to a cottage, kids laughing and cooling off in a creek, people sitting outside on their porches in a porch swing after dark talking because the house is too warm in the summer after cooking dinner. All those things I miss in some way.

Because the more history you have behind you the more those glasses become rose tinted !
