The Avatar - A five minute rant

Somehow I got force fed The Avatar this afternoon. I didn't like the movie and I still don't. Can I explain my dislike? Sure, I'll get back to you with more than five minutes of typing it down next time. Now I got onto the internet quickly and discovered that there are actually people out there who dislike others that are in my position. I'll quote two points of view against me here. Mind you, I don't have anything against people having another believe or positioning. Here it goes then from two others: "From what I’ve observed over the years most of the hate is from people just trying to be contrarian and going against something people like and just repeating criticisms they’ve heard the last 13 years without ever forming an original opinion of their own." and "Because it was woke before people had a word for wokeness. The biggest movie in the world has a political and ethical message and it drives people crazy. The rule was that if your movie was political then it should fail and Avatar said F--K that." My question is: why can't I just dislike a movie and why do movies need to force feed me anything at all? Historical drama is turned out nowadays as entertainment, so why should entertainment be viewed as matter a fact anything at all?

You can enjoy or dislike films on different levels. Not everything has to be interpreted in terms of current day political discourse. I don't know this film and I probably wouldn't watch it because I tend to lose interest in films that excessively rely on CGI. I don't much like the Harry Potter films either, but that is because they are too long and not very well written, rather than their alleged satanism. A film has to be entertaining, first and foremost, or otherwise there is no point 🤷‍♀️
