Does anyone remember watching the show "ER" ?

@bijouxbroussard yes. Channel 5. And we got our signal from our antennas. Unless you lived across the bay you have cable. But we had KTVU Channel 2 Oakland, KRON 4 NBC kpix 5 CBS and ABC 7 was what kgo?. Then you go to channel U and start using the other knob to hit KOFE(?) TV 20 with the dogs and move their heads at the right time when they say 20 in the slogan. That's where we can catch all the after-school dance party shit right? with TK Tony Kilbert (?) right? and kbhk TV 44 they had all the cool cartoons Bugs Bunny Flintstones Popeye and three stooges and Our Gang after school The Brady Bunch and maybe Gilligan's Island but I think that might have been on 20 and there's some weird Stockton channel 40 sometimes and then if you go way deep you get that tweaked out Reverend dude that was always broadcasting. That dude always gave me the creeps. He had that kind of white linen hat on or something like that oh and don't forget to adjust your vertical hold LOL or it will start skipping up and down like a windshield wiper taking the whole picture with it. LOL the good old days. But you know what? They were because it was free and there was something to watch always and now I pay I don't know what I pay for cable 150 bucks a month or some shit for DirecTV and there's nothing to watch Ever but hey, no more vertical hold. that's a plus

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I see. Thanks for the clarification. I forget how it's done over there don't you have to pick a certain tax for your TV but then you get a lot more freedom with it unless advertising or something like that. My sister lived over there for a few years in Hampstead and I remember my brother in law telling me all the differences between the way TV is broadcast over there versus the way it's done over here and why there was so much Freedom , like for example with Benny Hill LOL. You would probably trip out over all the pharmaceutical advertisements we have. The first half of the commercial convincing us we have a certain condition that needs us to tell our doctor which drugs to give us and the rest of the commercial warning us how bad these drugs are for us , speaking at the rate of an auctioneer because there's so many of them and the commercial only 30 seconds long . LOL Telling us to go tell our doctors what drugs to give us. That's putting the cart in front of the horse and basically turning our doctors into our drug dealers

They often make me chuckle.
Especially those medical ones!

Okay I'm on a bit of a tangent now but what I find interesting is that the whole time we were in Afghanistan our country developed an opiate epidemic. Now how long have we been out of afghanistan? Now we have a shortage and there's not enough for everybody who's legally strung out on it. This could get interesting. Where do the pharmaceutical companies get it legally? If they're growing it, where are they growing it? In afghanistan? Do the Taliban give them a pass just because they're cool?

Been on TV here since 1982 but before that I listened to the American Forces Network which used to boom in here from Germany.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales thats right. I almost forgot about AFN. I also overlooked the time difference. I was stationed in (west) Germany in the mid 80s. Monday morning formations after the super bowl were always postponed until 0900 ..and no PT cuz we'd all still be half drunk.. lol
