Actors Join Writers on Strike, Effectively Shutting Down Hollywood – Will Anyone Notice?

Most of the really good screenwriters left Hollywood over 20 years ago when they were told to “turn dark” in order to get good scripts to write. That’s what a former screenwriter who left told me. He wasn’t willing to go along with the rituals involving children. I think a lot of the ones who stayed may be getting arrested for crimes against children and actors getting arrested too. That’s why they are using AI and CGI to make some of these latest movies. The actors that are promoting the movies usually don’t even look like the original stars….Tom Cruise for example.

Strikes are usually more effective when it halts production of something people actually like, want or need. As for me, this will have no effect on my life.

Don't care. I can't feel sorry for the over-paid celebs. I can feel empathy for the poor slobs down in the movie making trenches that are likely over-worked and under-paid.

I kind of appreciate how literally nothing matters to you outside of dunking on liberals. And don't get me wrong, I dunk on liberals all the time but this is baffling.

There's no real life, there's no actual real world implications. Everything is just ranting about how bad the other side is. Other people don't exist. Just making fun of shit and saying woke every two seconds. What a weird way to live your life.

I actually spoke to a union guy yesterday(not one of the ones on strike). He said that there's zero cooperation. The big wigs think that everything can be done for free between computers/AI and the cost slashing is out of control. There's a war that's been brewing for years(I know, I was a casualty) and now the chickens have come home to roost The abject greed of the morons who run the big studios--into the ground, I might add--has got to be put in check.

I feel the worst for the tech people and smaller writers/assistants who stand to get majorly screwed. We have heads of 2 major corporations saying that the little guys are being unreasonable while they pocket millions. Millions! So something has to give.

Why would we? Hollywood writers and actors teach us there's no reason for politics and we really just want to shop and take drugs.
