Crazy cartoon character but did anyone feel sorry for him?

The way Bugs ran rings around him and made him look stupid?

I felt sorry for him and he totally is my favourite cartoon character.

Actually,there was an early Bugs-Elmer matchup where Elmer actually got the better of Bugs,although he didnt kill him.
