I think i’m over the MCU movies

After Endgame, the momentum is gone. I loved No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness. But everything thing else has been very “meh”. Without Cap and Iron Man I feel like the MCU lost it’s two main characters. Every adventure now feels like a side quest. It also feels like the multiverse is just a shallow excuse to have cheap nostalgic cameos from other franchises.

I have the same feeling towards Star Wars

@SW-User I liked Rogue one. Especially Cassian's assassination scene in the rain. It went to show how the Rebellion was more dimensional than just being 'the good guys'

I haven't finished Andor yet. But as far as any of the series, I really enjoyed the Mandalorian

@Whodunnit these days It's a rarity that Disney makes a movie that I love. I'll just stick with the old ones. Mulan and Lilo & Stitch are my favorites

Yeah, after Endgame it has to be something like the villains in Marvel stronger than Thanos. You can't follow Endgame up with Black Widow, Loki, and She-Hulk
The thing is they talk about super hero fatigue as being a 'myth" but the reality is different, the market impact of someone like me deciding not to pay to watch another super hero movie is maybe 30 bucks and less if I just buy the DVD or a stream of it.

In other words it's real but those of us who feel it are such a market minoritiy that super hero movies will march on independently of us being Exhausted with them. we Also don't control huge sums of the Capital either.
I control a growing amount but ... I'm not rich.

I don't watch superhero movies. I watch stoner comedies.

They know they want Kang to be the next Villain but I think they're struggling to find decent plots to bring it there.

In addition the stars of the current shows know they have some pull and so may be steering stories that don't mesh well with building a cohesive storyline ( looking at the mess that Thor 4 was)
I agree. I love having all these callbacks, but it felt like the MCU was throwing stuff out and going with what stuck. As it turns out, no way home was their best film and they rolled with the concept for their next saga. What a twist.

I agree completely. Besides, last time I saw a Marvel movie, it was so long and I was dumb and made the mistake of buying a large drink before it. I just can't really do it anymore lol. These long ass movies.
I was DONE with things way back with spiderman 3 and Tobey. I've been horrified and had super hero fatigue ever since. Welcome abroad, late comer.

I didn't even like MoM.

Phase four has been a disaster.

@Whodunnit I feel like MOM isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I love Sam Raimi, I love horror movies and I love the Scarlet Witch. So I liked it.

@QueenOfZaun The parts of it that were pure Raimi were great. Zombie Strange wearing the wraiths as a cloak for example.

I think studio interference and having the main chatacter play second fiddle to the 'guest' characters didn't help at all.

I like Scarlet Witch too, but it was obvious that the writers had not watched Wandavision (which I believe they admitted to) and her descent into being evil but dumb was undeserved.

Oddly the thing I thought I would hate going in was America Chavez as she's pretty insufferable in the comics, but she was actually okay.

I think they could have done a lot more with the multiverse side of things too.
QueenOfZaun · 26-30, F
@Whodunnit Nah I listened to the DVD commentary for MOM they watched Wandavision. They actually weren’t allowed to watch No Way Home. I’ll admit the script has problems but I think the studio interfered too much. Sam Raimi and Elizabeth Olsen carried the movie for me but I can see why some people don’t like it. Scarlet Witch becoming a villain made perfect sense to me considering how evil she was acting in Wandavision. It’s pretty selfish and fucked up to hold an entire town hostage because your boyfriend died. If SWORD and Vision didn’t stop her, she would have killed someone. Besides Wanda was never redeemed in Wandavision. She was forced to undo the spell, said goodbye to Vision then took off with the most evil book in the universe.
I feel Marveled Out, and Star Wars Stoned

But then I saw the new Ant Man trailer….

I dont get how people can still be into that trash.
