The head of the network saw Cheers, picked up the piece and said "I've seen this a few times .. and I like it". It went on the board, but a couple of other shows with higher viewership were canceled.

@Justafantasy And if it had just been ignored it would’ve gone off the air—as it eventually did. What do they say about "no bad press" ?
