Columbo fans...

On the episode "Any old port in a storm", how did turning off the a/c prove that Adrian Carsinni murdered his brother?

The wine got over 150 degrees and spoiled it. Columbo steeks a bottle if the wi e and has it served at the restaurant. Adrian says its spolied.

@1olderguy20 Yes, I know that! But how does that prove he murdered him!! Just because he happened to turn it off that particular day doesn't prove shit. I love Columbo, but that was the worst concedence of guilt ever

@SW-User he catches him throwing the wine away and actually he confesses.

@SW-User it was a little. But taking into account the ego òf the antagonist it makes sense

Columbo had evidence that the victim never left the vineyard after seeing his brother. Since he died of suffocation, the only place that could have happened was the wine vault. And it could only have happened if the ventilation was switched off. There was no reason to turn it off except to kill the victim. The wine was spoiled, due to over heating. It established the means. Means, motive, and opportunity was what Columbo needed to convict.
