My Grandma and Grandpa lived next to one of the Ted Bundy victim's parents house. I'm not familiar with any serial killers outside of the united states except Jack the Ripper. Ted Bundy is an interesting case because his mental faculties all seemed to be there and yet he did some of the most horrific torchers. He didn't have any childhood abuse or trauma (that we know of) and he grew up in a middle class suburban family. There isn't any of the more common psychological trauma that is usually found in serial killers. I don't even think he did drugs outside of alcohol.

@Lostpoet it's on Netflix
Magenta · F
@Lostpoet Indeed. And he was a charming, well liked, successful man.
I think he became addicted to it.
Lostpoet · M
@Magenta “ I believe there are monsters born in the world to human parents. Some you can see, misshapen and horrible, with huge heads or tiny bodies; some are born with no arms, no legs, some with three arms, some with tails or mouths in odd places. They are accidents and no one's fault, as used to be thought. Once they were considered the visible punishment for concealed sins.

And just as there are physical monsters, can there not be mental or psychic monsters born? The face and body may be perfect, but if a twisted gene or a malformed egg can produce physical monsters, may not the same process produce a malformed soul?

― John Steinbeck, East of Eden

I think he was just one of those monsters

Dr. Death is a good one although the podcast from Wondery was much better than the TV miniseries.

Netflix has a documentary titled Meet, Marry, Murder about potential serial killer Kelly Cochran. Interesting because she is a woman. Dead North on Amazon is a 4 part mini series about the same case but told from the detective's POV.

Another Netflix Documenatry is called, The Worst Roomate Ever. It is about grandma serial killer Dorothea Puente.

@SW-User Try discovery+ if you can, a ton of documentaries on serial killers
SW-User
@WhiskeyxXxLullabye i do watch Dis + most of the times. I finished the paranormal witness. Didn't know there was something on SK as well. Thanks a ton for suggesting
SW-User
I could only find green river Killer and Kansas cult killer. Have seen the former @WhiskeyxXxLullabye
Magenta · F
So many. I think all of those. I don't remember them all.

John Wayne Gaci
David Berkowitz

It's just a great lesson in the reality of humans, and we do not know what is inside anyone and anyone can have a façade of kind and charming.
SW-User
@Magenta thanks a ton. Looking for them
Magenta · F
@SW-User @SW-User You're quite welcome.
Also..
Andrew Cunanan
Pedro Lopez
Dr. Harold Shipman

There was female serial killer too, which is rare. Can't remember her name.

Have you watched the series, "Very Scary People" On HLN? You may like it.
SW-User

Sharky86 · 36-40, M
Yes, blahblah. I remember there's at least a movie about the Butcher of Rostov, one of the most scary and dangerous killers active in Europe.
They say he could have killed about 50 or 100 people.

Also I remember the story of Canadian Luka Mangotta (or a similar name) which happened just some years ago. The guy was an attention seeker, he tried model career, porn career etc, and become popular on the internet for killing a cat or something, in the end he killed a boyfriend then run away around Europe to escape from cops. Blahblah.
SW-User
@Sharky86 ok blahblah lol i will look into these
Sharky86 · 36-40, M

I read a lot and watch documentary about Ed Kemper. Poor dude. Got fucked up since early life, there is no way to fix him.

You should watch documentary:

Jodi Arias (not serial killer but she killed her boyfriend and claimed innocent).

Menendez Brothers (murder their family because of their parents were abusive, according to them).

Scott Peterson (whom murder his wife, Laci Peterson and his unborn child, really fucked up dude).

Chris Watts (dude kill all his children and his wife, really bastard guy).

Mansons (Tate-La Bianca murders).

A lot of disturbing murder cases but it you can watch it on YouTube.

Most are lust murders with the killers acting on a combination of a psychological profile devoid of empathy and a paraphilia or two.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@Subsumedpat For example Ted Bundy had a paraphilic fetish for white socks, necrophilia, and was a sexual sadist, that alone would not cause him to kill but combine that with the right personality profile, a psychopath, and absent internal mechanisms to stop those drives and you have it.
exexec · 61-69, C
I knew a man, a neighbor, who was suspected of being a serial killer of young women. They recently got a confession from another man who killed three young ladies in our area years ago.
SW-User
@exexec OMG!

@SW-User There is a website where you can stream a lot of shows that come out on HBO and other cable channels for free, it is a pirate website I guess but you don't have to download anything so there's no viruses or anything just don't click on anything weird and you'll have to beat off the weird ads with a stick but here's a link to doctor death Peacock miniseries.
