There's too big of a market for Nostalgia. The signs are everywhere that it's profitable as hell. hollywood could do better but the markets they operate in will watch shit even if it's not well written. People often don't read the critics, they often disagree with them. People think Rotten Tomatoes is way more relevant than it actually is. critique matters but those who engage in it don't have as much power as they pretend.
