although the special effects have not aged well and today look old and although it was considered by some to be a flop, the 1084 david Linch's "Dune" is one of my favorite sci-fi movies. I also think the original matrix is maybe the best sci-fi movie ever made. when it came out it really revolutionised what we expect from a sci-fi movie.

@reflectingmonkey Lynch's dune is like trippin without trippin. I have no idea what's going on at any time but i fucking love it

@GermanAf I did read the book and saw the movie many times but I can undertsand that on first viewing it must be a bit hard to follow. each scene actually makes total sense.

@reflectingmonkey i don't like reading so i never read it 😳

@GermanAf i read it a long time ago, I don't read much anymore, I find it harder and harder to read, i suspect I have early stage alzeimer's.

@reflectingmonkey well that's depressing. Have you been to a doctor?

Personally, I didn't love Lynch's Dune because some of the science looked wrong; particularly the ornithopters. No way those clunky things would fly. The ornithopters in the new Dune are genius though!
