Do you stream everything or are your DVDs and VHSs still useful?

I have some movies on DVD I can't find anywhere online or streaming.

I converted everything to .mp4 and put it on a 4tb hard drive to play through my Rokus I still have a few things on DVD and Blu-ray though

@SW-User I'm in process doing this. I have so many movies that I don't want to carry them around so much

@SW-User it was time consuming, but worth it. Plus so much more portable to just take my laptop and the mp4s to watch anywhere

@SW-User I understood mp4 is not lossless.

@helenS it is not. So it is compresses significantly vs a Blu-ray or a DVD, but if you know the right way to encode it the picture quality is still just as good

@SW-User I have tons of DVDs. I have probably 50 operas on DVD, and each opera recording consists of 2-4 DVDs.

@helenS that mudt be so annoying needing to change disks

@Jm31xxx It's not blue ray, that's why. There's usually one opera act on one DVD. As in a real opera house, after watching one act, I may have to go to the bathroom anyway 😁
